Title: Top 8 Moments From The Couture Show Publication: The New York Times Date: January 29, 2016 The article is talking about the top highlights that happened at couture week. It gave a breakdown of every single important thing that happened during the event. I chose this article because as I was reading it reminded me of the videos we watched on week 2. Designers do not follow trends; they make their own trends. Karl Lagerfeld's collection was made out of wood material, which was different from the norm. He also used chiffon, rhinestones, and leather. It shows you how creative designers can get. The article also talks about how Cara Delevingne's dog made an appearance and he stole the show. That tells me that dogs can also be a sense of fashion. Then again, Paris Hilton was one to use her pet as a fashion accessory. The article also talked about how some dresses took the designers 1,800 to 2,400 hours to create. It shows how much dedication it takes to be a designer. People don't give them the credit they deserve. Of course, not everything in a fashion show goes as planned. Models sometimes have their mishaps. This was the case for one of them at the couture show. She made a wrong turn and had to be redirected by someone in the front row. It takes skills to walk the runway. Designers take risks with what they design. It's not an easy process to make an entire collection. It takes a lot of dedication and often they don't get the credit they deserve. It's giving me a different perspective in fashion. Designers focus on what is trending at the time and try to make it their own. For example work out gear is trending so they try to incorporate it into their collection. I also noticed that designers tend to often use different textures to give their clothes a noticeable style. They are usually ahead of the public so by the time something comes out it’s already hit the runway.
