This article caught my attention based on the designers which included Roberto Cavalli and Gucci. It describes what went on the first week of Milan's fashion week. I can only imagine all the work that goes into the preparation of the fashion show. This article talks about the designers and the designs seen during fashion week. Matteo Renzi premiered Milan fashion week on Wednesday focusing his attention on Italian fashion. He posed near Milan's Duomo cathedral alongside emerging and newly established designers that have impacted Milan's fashion runways. He wants to showcase Milan's design and fashion industries by bringing them all together. Giorgio Armani, Donatella Versace, Ermenegildo Zegna, and Ermanno Scervino were amongst the designers. Young and talented Alessandro Michele previewed his collection at Gucci and Peter dundas showed his cold weather look for Roberto Cavalli. Alessandro's latest Gucci collection has been full of surprises. Some of the well know names wearing his pieces are Nicole Kidman and Julieanne Moore. In his collection he presented long dresses, a flowy flower pattern with embroidered silk asymmetrical off the shoulder bodice. Also a black ruffle and lace number with Michele's trademark snake. His dress designs created a 1950's feel while his jackets had an edgier feel. Some of the standard looks have returned such as the GG logo. In my opinion the original trademarks of designers will always stay in style. It is what distinguishes them from the rest. Customers always buy the product based on the name. It's what associates them with the value of the product. They are willing to pay the tag price because they know what they are buying. Milan's fashion week is the start of a trend that earns it's value overtime.
